Itinerary

Independence Square is located in the center of Tashkent city. It is a favorite resting place for the Tashkent residents. The fact that the most beautiful fountains of the city are located in the square contributed considerably to it.

The square of memory and honor is a monument dedicated to soldiers who died during the Great World War. The monument was established in 1999, located at the Independence Square in front of the Eternal Flame. It is known that the War touched every family in Uzbekistan. The monument of mourning mother is an amulet as well as it warns us about the past.

Monument to Courage is dedicated to the men and women who rebuilt their flattened city following the earthquake of 1966. The 05:24 earthquake on 26 April 1966 left over half of the city in ruins.

The history of the square in the center of Tashkent named after Amir Timur, the commander and founder of a huge medieval empire, began as early as in the XIX century, when Tashkent was the center of the Turkestan Military Command, composing the Russian Empire.

After Uzbekistan became independent in 1991, much attention was given to the revival of the nation's spiritual and cultural heritage, including recognition of historical persons who had an important role in world civilization. Among those was Amir Temur, the warlord, politician and reformer, patron of science, education, trade, culture, and craft. Having established a great centralized state, he strengthened its power and also united many nations and people. Amir Temur's rule promoted science, education, culture, architecture, fine arts, music, and poetry, laying the foundations of the Timurid Renaissance.

The Minor mosque is one of the new sights of Tashkent located in the new part of the city. It was opened on 1 October 2014, on the eve of the Eid holiday, and has become one of the favorite places of city residents for evening strolls. Its capacity is more than 2400 people.

This unique museum dedicated to the memory of the people killed or imprisoned as a result of repressions and persecutions was founded in the Uzbek capital not long ago. It was opened on August 31, 2002, in a small park area, which subsequently was developed into a memorial complex.

Hast Imam Square (Hazrati Imam) is a religious center of Tashkent. Hast-Imam is located in the old town, within neighborhoods with the old wattle and daub houses that have experienced earthquake of 1966.

History of Museum of Applied Art of Uzbekistan dates back to 1927 when the first exhibition of artworks by artists of Uzbekistan was held here. The Museum of Applied Art fund lists over 7,000 samples of applied arts: handmade embroidery, skull caps (tyubeteyka), jewelry, carpets and other examples of craftsmanship of the beginning of the 19th century to present day.

Chorsu Bazaar, Tashkent’s best-known market, is impressive both inside and out. The tendency of construction of such bazaars with a complex of covered premises began in XI century and went on up to XIII century. In our century this bazaar inherited land and premises of previous centuries.
